A quick note to remind you that there are listening parties today and tomorrow at 3 p.m. EST / noon PST for the protest music compilation record I've got a song on, The Weapon and The Shield.

The records are out now and available on Bandcamp, which is where the listening parties are and which you can get to by clicking on the title or the image above.

Here are links to the listening parties for Volume 1, today at 3 pm EST, and Volume 2, tomorrow — Saturday — at 3 pm EST. That's the one my song Left Two Three is on. There are artists from all over the world and a wide variety of musical genres on The Weapon and the Shield.

At the listening parties you listen to the records, natch, and you can chat with other listeners and whatever artists show up. I'm planning to show up at both if I can.

Chapelboro One-Night Tour

I'll be playing two gigs in one night on Wednesday Jan. 14 in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. I was hoping to get a helicopter to rush me from the Carrboro show to the Chapel Hill one, but since they're only about a half mile apart and I don't know how to get a helicopter, I'll probably just drive.

It starts at 7:30 with the latest renewal of the Grit Diaries songwriter showcase at Speakeasy Carrboro, 100 E. Main St. I'll be in the first group of four performers trading songs and stories. There will be four groups total, and the lineup, subject to change, is on this flyer:

Then later at The Cave, 452 1/2 W. Franklin St. in Chapel Hill, I'll be joining Danny Grewen and David Prather for their monthly show. That starts at 9, and they usually play first, so I'll be on sometime around 10 I guess.

You may remember Danny from such IG posts as this one, when he was playing trombone on my upcoming EP, True Stories of Time Travel.
