This is my first full-song video in a while. It's a favorite of mine and one I'm planning to record.
I would consider it a great favor if you would click on it, though I hope you'll watch the
whole thing and enjoy it if you do. But your click tells the YouTube monster to maybe suggest it to other people. If you do like it, please share it! Thank you.
I'm not sure when it was that I became fascinated by time travel, but I think it dates to the episode of Bewitched where Aunt Clara, in need of an electrician, accidentally summons Ben Franklin, who wanders around
marveling at what he sees in 1966 New York. I saw this in reruns I'm not quite that old.
I'll gobble up damn near any time travel movie, TV show, book, short story, whatever, even though most of them are pretty disappointing. My current top recommendation is 11/22/63 by Stephen King, the novel more than the miniseries, though that's good
too.
What's yours?
I may have been yammering on about 11/22/63 to The Queen Teen when she stopped me and said "You have to promise me that if you ever get a chance to get in a time machine, you won't go."
She was serious.
I promised.
I wasn't lying. I keep my promises to my wife and also I'm kind of a coward and I'm probably not getting in that thing whatever it is. I
don't even ride scooters.
But I got to thinking: I could be lying and what are the odds she'd ever know? And that became this song. I told her about it and assured her that THAT part of it, that I was lying, isn't true. Congratulations if you were able to follow that last sentence.
But she did make me promise, and I did, and that's why I get to say: Unlike every other time-travel story you've ever heard, this one's true.
